  • Chassis ( Old to New ) - The only difference is the cut outs to allow quick removal of the wheels and for resetting the gear on the Rear axle. It is permissible in the rules to modify the early chassis BRM 001 thru to 010 to replicate the later one. As long as no more plastic is removed than in the later versions.
  • Trimming of the front edge of the Chassis to allow braid clearance is allowed.

Car can not be raced without the Rear Wing, if it comes off you must replace it before continuing on in the race (under Green, which means during the race not at the end of that Heat). Any minor parts that are lost during the race must be refitted before the next race starts. (Wheel inserts, Headlight buckets, etc)

May use oil or grease to lubricate motor, gears and axles. You may lightly sand tyres - no other chemicals or additives allowed.

The motor must remain “STOCK” and can not be modified in any way, you can glue in the motor. Motors may not be opened or tampered with any markings on the motor will be presumed as signs of an opened motor and the car will be disqualified. Motor lead wires may be modified or shortened in any way you choose.

You may glue in axle bearings or glue on any part supplied with the kit.

The intent with the BRM Races is to run the cars as "STOCK" as possible! any breach of the “RULES” will mean exclusion from the race.

All protests must be filed before the Race starts unless concerning modification of a car during the race.

TECH TIPS - GEARS

The biggest area to pay attention to are setting up the gear mesh. It is best to set these cars up with zero lash at the tightest spot on the crown gear, and no side float in the rear axle. Any side float will allow the mesh to change as the car switches from left to right in the turns changing mesh or lash and quickly destroying gears.

Once worn in this is less of an issue, but it is very different to the 1/32 scale cars with self aligning gears.
