BODY
- Any 1:24 true to scale vacuum formed Lexan or PET body representing Can Am Cars up to 1970. as well as Sports Cars & Sports Prototype Cars up to 1970 listed on the enclosed official homologation list
- Minimum body material thickness .010
- Cut out & mounting of body has to reflect actual 1:1 car
- The presentation of body (paint design, decals and additional detail pars) has to be as realistic as possible to a 1:1 car of this time
- Only 2 piece driver interior (vacuum formed with separate drivers head) to be used. Interior has to cover all windows & open cockpits. No chassis parts are allowed to be visible
CHASSIS
- Plafit Excel 1300U only
- Chassis has to be adjusted according to the body and its dimensions used making sure that all wheels are covered by the body when viewed from above.
- Chassis set up has to be done only within its design limits and only with original accessories i.e. changing spring tension or the amount of chassis/body movement.
- All original mounting points and basic configuration must be retained.
- The Front Chassis Plate 1304C can be shortened only above the 2 long holes which fit the Front Axle Bracket in order to fit low-front bodies. However both long holes must be retained entirely.
- No further chassis modifications other than within its design limits.
- No soldering allowed to hold motor in position. Only motor screws to be used.
- Body tape or plastic strip may be used to hold lead wires in place.
- Plafit Excel weight Plate Sets 1314 may be used.
- Other additional weight may be added as long as it is placed on top of the Chassis, Main Frame, Body H Frame or Side Body holders
- Plafit Excel Fine Screw Sets 1313 may be used instead of standard screws
GROUND CLEARANCE
- 1mm under entire chassis including gear.
FRONT AXLE
REAR AXLE
- 3mm Solid only. Oil Lite bushings or Ball Bearings must be glued in place.
- Maximum rear axle/tyre width is 78.0mm.
FRONT WHEELS
- Standard Plafit 17mm Front Wheel 1231E only.
- Minimum tire diameter is 23mm & minimum width is 8mm. No independent front wheels allowed.
REAR WHEELS
- Standard Plafit 17mm Rear Wheel 8337 with Black Magic Tyre 1342U only.
- Minimum tire diameter is 24mm & Maximum width is 13.5mm.
- Use of Goo and/or any other tyre softener, liquids etc is not allowed. Cleaning with
Shellite only allowed.
WHEEL INSERTS
- 15mm Wheel Inserts have to be used on all wheels.
PINION
- Any 50 pitch plastic or brass pinion in 10 or 12 tooth only.
MOTOR
- Only 13D Plafit Fox II Motor. Original lettering “PLAFIT FOX II China” has to be visible.
- Sealed motors are not to be opened or modified in any way.
- Any lead wire may be used.
